Cosmetic Treatments FAQ

Clear information about assessment, personalisation, expectations and aftercare.

What concerns does Dr Greig assess?

Consultations can cover frown and forehead lines, brow position, neck and platysmal bands, lines around the mouth, marionette lines, downturned mouth corners, a gummy smile, a dimpled chin, jaw tension, clenching and teeth grinding (bruxism), and unwanted facial or underarm perspiration (hyperhidrosis).

How do these treatments work?

Depending on the concern, carefully placed prescription treatment can temporarily reduce signalling to selected muscles or sweat glands. The purpose is not to treat every line or remove all movement; it is to agree a proportionate plan after assessment of your anatomy, priorities and risks.

Do you charge “per area”?

No. Dr Greig has deliberately avoided a rigid per-area model. Different people need different amounts and sometimes several related muscles must be considered together. Pricing is based on the amount required for the agreed treatment, which is more individual and transparent.

What happens at a new-patient consultation?

Dr Greig discusses what bothers you, examines the relevant anatomy, reviews medical history and medicines, explains realistic options and risks, and checks that treatment is appropriate. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and there is no pressure to proceed.

When will I notice a change and how long can it last?

Change is gradual rather than immediate and varies between people and treatment areas. Dr Greig will explain the expected timeframe and review arrangements for your plan. No duration or result can be guaranteed.

Will I look frozen or unnatural?

The aim is a considered result that respects your expression and priorities—not an exaggerated or standardised look. Anatomy, muscle strength, asymmetry and the amount used all matter. Dr Greig will also say when a requested result is unrealistic or treatment is not appropriate.

Can jaw tension and teeth grinding be assessed?

Yes. Bruxism and jaw tension can involve powerful masseter muscles, but symptoms may have several causes. Assessment is important, and dental or other medical review may sometimes be needed.

Can unwanted perspiration be assessed?

Yes. Facial or underarm hyperhidrosis can be distressing. A consultation considers the pattern, possible underlying causes, previous treatments, expected benefits, limitations and risks before deciding whether treatment is appropriate.

What if I have a concern after treatment?

Patients under Dr Greig’s care can contact him through the contact page. Do not wait for a routine review if you are worried. Call 999 for a medical emergency.

Are consultation photographs used for marketing?

Clinical photographs may be recommended as part of assessment and the medical record. They are handled as confidential health information. They will not be used for website or social-media marketing without separate, explicit permission.

Can I have treatment during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Tell Dr Greig if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding. Elective cosmetic prescription treatment will usually be deferred where safety evidence is insufficient. Your individual circumstances must be discussed before any decision.
